About Girlington Garage

Girlington Garage was founded in 2009 by Demeny Pollitt to provide high-quality automotive service built on transparency, respect, and quality. After years in male-dominated shops where she saw customers being treated with condescension or confusion, Demeny decided to create a different kind of environment.

We believe you shouldn’t need technical experience to understand your car’s health.  Our goal is always the same: to cut through the jargon and ensure you leave feeling confident, informed, and respected.  Many shops only look at the specific problem you called about. At Girlington, our technicians are trained to perform a comprehensive health check on every car that comes in.  We are looking for ways to keep you safe and fully aware of your vehicle's needs.

Our shop is designed to take care of you. While dropping off your vehicle for the day, make yourself at home with organic coffee to go, free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, and magazines. To keep you moving while we work, we offer complimentary loaner vehicles. Our goal is to make your experience as smooth as possible from start to finish.

Demeny is a graduate of Vermont Technical College and the Women’s Small Business Program. She started Girlington Garage to provide high quality automotive service coupled with a focus on clear communication and honest business practices. When she’s not hanging out at the shop, she’s gardening, exploring the woods, looking for delicious mushrooms, and chillin’ with her two kitties.

Max B.

Technician - He/Him

Max is our resident hybrid/EV specialist, having just completed training and certification through AC/DC Training Center. When he’s not fixing your cars, he’s hunting mushrooms, avoiding clowns, and searching for a cheap house to buy. (Update: He found one and loves it! He now lives in harmony with his dog and the chickens) He’s not lactose intolerant, but he is a celiac, so keep those tasty delights wheat-free!

Technician - He/Him

Derek moved to Vermont from Michigan back in the golden era of the 2010s. He’s been a technician for 10 years, and he still really likes it! He recently completed training and certification through AC/DC training center, making him our second Hybrid Specialist! If he hadn’t become a technician, he would have been a punk rock wizard, saving the world with his most excellent guitar skills and his triumphant Tae Bo teachings. If you want to bring him a delicious treat, just make sure it’s lactose-free!

A decade ago, Nya entered the auto world with one goal: solve the problem. Today, that passion drives her to cut through the confusion and get people exactly what their vehicle needs! She delivers expert solutions with a patient understanding and zero-judgment empathy. When she's not here ensuring things run smoothly, she's exploring with her son and husband, yes, she's also the resident tarot expert!

Braxton A.

Service Advisor - They/Them

Meet, Braxton! Braxton has over 3 years of experience in the automotive industry and comes to Girlington with a wealth of knowledge and a knack for connecting with customers! While their background is in sales, they have enjoyed branching out into the service side of the shop and continue to expand upon their knowledge of vehicles! When Braxton isn’t in the shop, you can find them sporting waders and fly fishing in a nearby body of water, cruising the lake on their jet ski, or traveling the world with their best friends!
